Rent goes up vs your house payment staying the same. You also get equity. Buying a house when you are able to makes sense.

Viewing a house as an investment rather than a home is how we got into the mess we’re in now.

I love renting. I love when my AC breaks during a heatwave and I can't get my landlord to answer the damn phone.

Love it when real estate investors are telling you how smart it is to rent forever.

People say this and that, but in a lot of areas, mortgages are more affordable or same price as apartments and such.

A home can build wealth, but the wrong purchase can become an expensive prison.

Renting _really_ depends on the landlord and their whims. It's... not safe.

My current landlord sucks. Been living there for 7 years and past 5 have had black mould issues from water ingress (confirmed from their repairman not my fault). I issued 14 day notice back in January to fix and only now in June they are fixing it. I have been kicked out of house (landlord not paying moving costs, additional rent from other place or any assistance. I am legally blind and fixed tenant for another 5 months) with less than 5 days notice as they tried to use a law that is only for natural disasters like earthquakes or floods. My clothes got damaged from the mould and will cost upwards of $6000 to replace (suits etc). I am suing the landlord for all of this and my court case is 1 month from today! Wish me luck

Renting will never be better than owning a house long term.
