  To grow up and to be able to understand in a therapeutic way that you must take care of your younger self in order to move forward and heal.. That alone is a level of self understanding that not a lot of people reach in ones lifetime. The Weeknd just had that illustrated in a form of art work. Amazing work.

  I really like this and the symbolism involved. This is just my interpretation, but the reason why The Weeknd's voice is reversed represents the way he sees the world; twisted and always seeing the past, or rather an inability to see the future (hence the name of his album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, where after 15 years of being part of the same today, he's ready to move on to tomorrow). In contrast, him as a child (lets call him Abel) represents his innocence and pure intentions, which is why his voice and sentences are coherent, because he's full of wonder. I also love the representation of the bugs, when Abel asks if The Weeknd caught it -- in a way, representing the innocence that The Weeknd has felt he has lost, while Abel still has it. I'll probably edit this more and more but this is just food for thought, my interpretation could be entirely wrong.
