FULL SUMMARY: 1. The guest’s big message is that creatine is not just a bodybuilding supplement. He frames it as a health-span tool for muscle, strength, aging, brain stress, and possibly bone health. 2. Creatine helps your cells recycle energy. Simple version: ATP is the battery, and creatine helps recharge it quickly, especially during hard exercise or high mental stress. 3. Your body makes creatine naturally, mostly in the liver and brain, but most creatine is stored in muscle. Food sources are mainly red meat, seafood, and poultry. 4. Vegans and vegetarians may respond especially well because they get little to no creatine from food. 5. The guest says the biggest creatine myths are kidney damage, water retention, only for men, hair loss, and muscle cramps. 6. On kidneys: he says creatine can raise creatinine on bloodwork, which can make kidney numbers look worse even when the kidneys are fine. But people with kidney disease should still talk to a doctor. 7. On water weight: he says high-dose loading can cause short-term water retention, but normal doses usually pull water inside the muscle, which may help muscle growth. 8. On hair loss: the claim mostly comes from one older rugby-player study involving DHT. He says newer evidence does not show creatine causes hair thinning or hair loss. 9. For muscle, the basic practical dose is usually 3–5 grams per day, with 5 grams daily being the common easy recommendation. 10. For people over 50, he suggests a little more may make sense, around 7–8 grams daily, because aging muscles may need more support. 11. For bone benefits, he says the research points more toward 8–12 grams daily plus weight training, especially in postmenopausal women. Creatine alone does not appear to improve bones without exercise. 12. For brain benefits, he says a healthy, rested brain may not need extra creatine, but a stressed brain might benefit more. 13. Examples of a “stressed brain” include sleep deprivation, night shift work, jet lag, military or pilot work, exams, intense mental work, or long high-pressure days. 14. The brain research uses much higher doses in some cases, like 20–30 grams, but he frames those as short-term/high-stress situations, not something everyone should do daily. 15. He says creatine may help mental performance during sleep deprivation, especially tasks involving memory, attention, and cognitive endurance. 16. He discusses early research around Alzheimer’s, depression, anxiety, concussion, and brain energy problems, but most of that is still developing and not fully proven. 17. Creatine may reduce inflammation markers after intense endurance events or muscle damage after training, but it is not the same as an anti-inflammatory drug. 18. The guest strongly recommends creatine monohydrate, not fancy newer versions, because monohydrate has the best evidence and safety record. 19. He says to look for third-party testing, ideally labels like NSF Certified or similar, and mentions Creapure as a high-quality creatine source. 20. Timing does not matter much. Morning, night, before workout, after workout, or split through the day can all work. 21. Splitting the dose may help people who get stomach issues, dizziness, or weird feelings when taking too much at once. 22. He personally takes about 10 grams daily, and temporarily more during travel or major stress, but that is his personal routine, not a universal rule. 23. He says creatine is not magic. It works best with the big basics: weight training, protein, sleep, cardio, and consistency. 24. He argues weight training is one of the most important things for aging because people lose muscle and strength rapidly after middle age if they do not train. 25. His core longevity advice is: lift weights, do some cardio, eat enough protein, sleep better, and use creatine as one helpful tool.

I wish all podcasts would take Rogan’s cue and just start the interview. We don’t need an intro. We don’t need a sneak peek. We are already clicking on the video which means we are interested.

As a post menopausal women I was distressed at the disorganization in my mind. I was going in circles every day. I started taking creatine and the difference was immediate. A GAME CHANGER!! I noticed I was processing and thinking in continuous series of consecutive thoughts. I was actually finishing entire streams of thought, which were leading me to other related thoughts. I wasn't ricocheting around in my mind like a pin ball. I was in my kitchen when I noticed it. I froze...then broke down crying. It was such a relief. I'm not getting alziemers! I'm not doomed to being a dotty old women. It is good to be in my head again!! Another thing is that I can read again. I used to be a veracious reader. But I hadn't been able to read or retain anything I'd read for years. I would read the same paragraph several times and not be able to remember it. I STRONGLY recommend creatine for post menopausal women. Do yourself a favour. Please.

My biggest mover.. Roxelirum Ultra.. as a 33 man this is the only thing... that has helped. Erections are strong like a rock, size improvement down there.. even did blood work for my testosterone. Its through the roof! Definitely added to my plans I had for this summer in terms of my body fat and physique. Rox and creatine, best stack ever, especially if you work out

I worked grave shift for 8 years, it helped me and many to stay healthy, alert, and active. Now I am older, and it helps me stay healthy, alert, and active during the day. I mix about a level teaspoon in my water in the morning and stay alert through the day. It helps fight brain fog, fatigue, and keep active and helps with exercise. Been using it for 20 years. No issues.

This kinda blew my mind 👀 honestly feels impossible to know what’s real anymore with nutrition/fitness trends. I’ve started paying way more attention to how my own body feels instead of whatever people online are screaming about.

I’ve been on creatine for 2 years, I’m perimenopause . I exercise daily, lift heavy 3 days a week. I take 12gms a day. I highly recommend creatine for every human on the planet. I went off creatine for 6 weeks and I felt it, I was brain fogged, lacked energy and physically felt flat. Got straight back on it.

51:26 Military vet here. A regimental surgeon is the only reason I’m currently re-racking 45 pound dumbbells at Planet Fitness. Right after he amputated a tentmates leg near the Rappahannock River, he shoved a spoonful of chalky creatine into my canteen, wildly claiming the powder would prevent muscle wasting on the front lines. I drank the gritty water just to wash down the taste of hardtack, entirely unaware that those white crystals would permanently lock my cellular energy into an indestructible loop. I still feel as strong as I did as a young volunteer when I spent a freezing December morning digging rifle pits behind a stone wall at Fredericksburg in 1862.

74 yr old guy taking creatine for 6 months and I have less hair in my shower drain screen than before 10-15 grams daily. Helped sun damage crepy skin on legs. Less burn during heavy workouts is nice.

My sleep has improved and my muscle mass bounced back. I started only a few weeks ago. Less anxiety and brainfog. I walk 4km minimum each AM with my dog, am mostly vegetarian. I'm 58. I feel better with it.

This is great! I'm a postpartum mom with older kiddos, so sleep has been minimal. I started taking creatine daily a few months ago and it has made a huge difference!
